YAY MINCENT!!!

This is a Mortal Kombat Conquest music video I almost made. I tried to make a Raiden and Kitana video just to see whether or not it could be done. Surprisingly, it can, which I'm rather proud of since these two characters never had any scenes together in MK Conquest. GOD, IT'S SO CHEESEY THAT IT HURTS A LITTLE INSIDE!!! The video was going pretty well when Kung Lao arrived and completely ruined things. Ass.



A bit of backstory as to why I was making a Raiden and Kitana video in the first place: Okay, so it's no secret that I'm a Mortal Kombat fan. The games have been a favourite of mine since I was a kid. The movies....not so much. They sucked. A lot. The first one is kind of fun, but the second one is honestly the worst movie you'll ever see. Then there was the TV series, Mortal Kombat Conquest. God, I loved this show so much when I was 11, despite it's obvious flaws. I still kind of love it now. My favourite pairing has always been Raiden and Kitana. NO, SHUT UP, IT MAKES SENSE!! Screw Liu Kang, she'd just outlive him anyway! Raiden and Kitana are fighting on the same side, they have the same goals and neither of them ever age. There, I said it. Look, I came up with the idea when I was a kid and I still stick to it today.
They're probably my only AU pairing and yes, it's really obscure.
I originally started this video as a joke. I was just playing around in Vegas one day and decided to see whether or not I could actually edit a Raiden and Kitana music video. I deliberately chose the cheesiest song I could find and began editing. Scary thing is...it worked. It REALLY worked. Well, this is basically as far as I got with the idea, but who knows?
Maybe one day I'll finish it.

Oh wow, I'm actually posting! Sorry for being such a lame LJ friend as of late, but I haven't had a lot of time :/
I just want to let everyone know that I do still check LJ whenever I can so I am still reading everyone's entries! I still love you all!

Okay, now onto Armageddon. The convention was held last weekend at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, however this year the entire convention was held in the one room. This did cause some problems with sound during various panels, but if you were close enough to the front it wasn't an issue.
I got to meet some great voice actors including Sean Schemmel and Travis Willingham, but surprisingly Dante Basco turned out to be one of the major highlights for me! I've never seen any of the cartoons he works on, but he was such a cool guy and a lot of fun to talk to. Rufio, Rufio!
I also met Olivia Hack. Once again, I'm not familiar with any of her work, but she was so lovely that I asked for her autograph anyway.

The AMV screening was a bit of a let down. Of the 24 entries that Armageddon recieved, they were only able to screen seven videos, about half of which were amateur. Look, I understand that almost everybody starts off making AMVs that really aren't up to standard, and with practice they get better, but at a convention where people are paying good money to be entertained these videos really have no place. I know a lot of the entires that weren't played and some of them are brilliant, so it's a little sad to see videos with Spanish fansubs, poor editing and unclean footage played instead :(
All that being said, the awards were given to some very talented vidders who greatly deserved thier prizes. Congrats again to Sian and Tim! Damn Sian, you are kicking butt! Eleanor, start entering conventions already!
Oh, and I also won first place. Thanks for the Red Vs Blue boxset guys! It's awesome!

I also won an Honorable Mention for my Cardcaptor Sakura cosplay. Yay!!

OH YEAH! I also met Seth Green in a rather bizarre way. See, I was waiting in a back room to be pre judged for cosplay when I decided to re adjust my outfit. So there I am with the back of my bra hanging out when someone walks in on me. I quickly pull the back of my costume back together just in time to look up and see Seth Green coming through the door!
Well, that was awkward.
Later some other cosplayers, including Sierra and Annie, came into the hall as well.
A while later, I heard this voice behind me say "Oh wow, you guys look amazing, can I please get a photo?". I turn around to see, you guessed it, Seth Green again!!

He took our photo and then sent his girlfriend in to interview us for G4!
That was pretty exciting.
All up, it was a fun weekend. It's always good to catch up with everyone again!

Urgh, I was going to spend the rest of the night catching up on other things, but I'm too tired, so I'm just going to have a shower and go to bed. So lazzzzzzy.

Trying to make some decisions at the moment for my next few cosplays.
I already know what I'm planning to wear to Armageddon, but I'm not sure what to wear to the Madman nationals. I feel like re-using an older cosplay, only, I'm not sure which one. I sort of want to wear Princess Tutu again since that's what I competed in before, but then I also didn't get to wear my Tiara cosplay for very long at Manifest this year.

In addition to the wee little one and Bonnie, we also have my brothers dogs for a week O.O
This morning, I got a wake up call first from Bonnie, then my brothers Jack Russell followed by his Pomeranian, then finally Little Bit, who was crying at my bed because she is too small to jump up.

I do miss Pendlebury though. I was thinking of ringing Save a Dog Scheme today to see how his training is going.

After months of nagging, Mum finally let me buy my own dog!



I adopted him from Save a Dog Scheme. He is a papillon crossed with, we think, corgi. He has a mighty puffy tail and an abnormally large head.
I almost missed out on getting him. He had only been at the kennel for a week, and already there were at least three other people interested in buying him. Suckers, his my dog now!!
His sister only lasted a day.


At the moment, his name is Pendlebury, but I'm not sure if that will be permanent.
If anyone has any other suggestions for a name, please share them ^_^

Nah, it's staying as Pendlebury. My Mum was the only one who wanted to change that, but majority rules. His full name is actually Prince Pendlebury Sparkles Wellington the Third, because I'm cruel like that :P

She called him "sweetheart"! Yay!!

So, he was a little on-edge at the time, but the important thing is that they were going home. Together. To the same home.

I'm just so glad that the Tonks/Lupin fans didn't get completely stiffed. True, the movie didn't include any development of the pairing whatsoever, or even any explanation, but as long as I got something, I'm happy.

Oh, but, I did really see the rest of the film as well. Maybe I'll talk about that later when everyone has seen it.

It occured to me, I never really post any of my cosplay pics, um, anywhere!

Seriously, that was the best convention I've been to for a long time.
Also, I am making a point of letting everyone know that Jake Lloyd is actually a really cool person. I wasn't particularly interested in meeting him at first, but I'm so glad I did.
I wore my Kasumi cosplay on both Saturday and Sunday, and I'm pretty sure this will be the last time. Yep, I'll probably retire that costume. I fail for not taking photos, but EVERYONE looked amazing!

Can't wait for Manifest <3
